Perfect Conditions for a Winter Motorcycle Ride ποΈ
π 30 degrees and sunnyβperfect conditions for a motorcycle ride! With the right gear, of course. ποΈ
I set off from my usual central NJ starting point at 9:30 am after installing a pair of new HVMP bar ends to eliminate handlebar vibrations. π§ The installation gave me a chance to use the hex and star keys from my new set of Cruz tools (an Amazon purchase from last weekend's non-riding downtime). π οΈ Also making its debut in my setup today was an iPhone 7 Plus π±.
Today's main mission was to continue testing Venture's heated jacket and gloves. π§₯𧀠With recent weather alternating between the 50s and 60s or snowing, finding ideal riding conditions has been challenging. Nevertheless, any riding day in January is a gift. π
Despite the low temperatures, Venture's heated liner kept me comfortable. Its superior heating elements and effective wind-breaking properties allowed me to ride in a three-season BMW Air Shell jacket. Unlike Januarys of the past, I no longer feel like the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man in bulky winter gear. π
I spent the first 50 miles of the morning meandering through the western NJ hills, shaking off my riding rust. ποΈ After a fuel stop and a quick lunch, I tackled the next 100 miles on back roads with growing enthusiasm and energy. π΄ Sticking to my commitments, I wrapped up my ride at 3:30 pm with 150 miles under my belt. β
